I'm Jason, a junior at Northwestern University studying Computer Science.
It all started when I booted up my first game of Minecraft, the game that would spark my passion for hardware technology and software development. Unbeknownst to me, the commands I was typing into the chat were my first lines of code. I was fascinated by the idea of tinkering with the game's settings and creating my own customizations. I was hooked. This marked the beginning of my journey into the world of technology.
Originally, I intended on pursuing a career in hardware technology. I was fascinated by the idea of building my own computer and learning how it worked. I spent countless hours researching the latest and greatest hardware components to put together my dream workstation. However, I soon realized that of the two sides of the coin, developing the software that powered my hardware was the one where I could make the most visible impact the fastest. And so, that was the path I chose.
As I now enter my third year of college, I've had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects ranging from full-stack web development to low-level system design. I've also had the opportunity to work with a variety of technologies and I couldn't be more excited to continue learning and growing as a developer. Some of my recent work with organizations such as Northwestern's FinTech Club and The Garage has allowed me to work on projects that have a direct impact on the community around me with some of the most talented people I know.
To continue my growth as an engineer, I'm actively exploring new professional opportunities. Recently, I had the valuable experience of working at the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA). Additionally, I'm excited to be working as a Software Engineer Intern with Capital One for the summer of 2024. When I'm not coding, you can find me reading, gaming, working on olympic lifts, or playing the piano. I hope this has given you a better idea of who I am and how I got to this point. Feel free to explore the rest of my profile.
